Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - This particular type of mast consists pf three parts as the name implies. The external section is attached firmly to the lift vehicle. The next part telescopes inside the mounted outside part and the interior most section telescopes in the middle section. Both the middle and the interior part elevate and the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides inside the interior part. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas such as doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This particular mast is usually outfitted with a center cylinder to be able to let the fork carriage raise a few distance before the mast sections begin lengthening.
The 2 Stage Mast has two sections. The internal section telescopes inside of the outer and elevates as the lift cylinders lengthen. The external part of this mast model is affixed to the lift truck. The fork carriage is situated within the inner part. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height than an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
